The Light within

Every day stuff happens to us - some good things and some bad things. We are not in control of the many things happening around us. But, if we focus on the light within us, we can stand firm no matter where we are standing.

It doesn’t matter what’s around you. It matters what’s within you.

We are like stained glass art work. We have a unique picture to show, but in order for it to be seen, there has to be a light shining from within. Too often we focus on the situation we find ourselves in and think that if we were in a different situation, life would be better. If we are able to keep our focus on what’s inside of us, we can find light even in the darkest room. In fact, the light shining within us will glow even brighter in a dark room.

Don’t let the sin that happens to you produce sin in you.

We live in a sin-filled environment, but that doesn’t mean we have to let sin inside us or allow it to run our lives. We can focus on letting God run our life. We do not have to be conformed to the sin that is in the world, we can be transformed by allowing the Holy Spirit to renew and wash our mind (Romans 12:2). 

“Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God.” 1 Corinthians 6:19

Sin cannot stand in the presence of God. If we keep the presence of God as our focus. We will be able to avoid sin. It is not possible to serve God and sin at the same time. If we are serving God, we will not be serving sin; if we are serving sin, we will not be serving God.
