What We Believe
The Bible:
We believe the Bible is the inerrant and infallible Word of God, without error, and is sharper than any two-edged sword. The Bible gives the complete definition of the Gospel and is not lacking in any area of doctrine. We believe the Bible is without error and accurately reveals God’s character and will to us.
God:
We believe in an eternally existing Godhead consisting of one Substance — God — and three Persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He created the universe out of the excessive overflow of His love, not because He was lonely. We believe God is intrinsically involved in His creation but is separate from it.
The Father:
We believe in the personhood of the Father. He is the Creator and Sustainer of our world and lives in perfect trinitarian unity with the Son and the Holy Spirit. Only the Son and the Spirit can know the Father, and the Father has made Himself known to us through the Son and the Holy Spirit.
The Son:
We believe in Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, who is eternal and equal in essence with the other Persons of the Trinity. Jesus humbled Himself and took on the form of a man by His own free will. He was fully man and fully God, two natures in One Person, and was tempted in every way, even as we are (Hebrews 4:15). And yet, He lived a sinless life and died a full and complete death on a cross and rose from the dead three days later.
The Holy Spirit:
We believe in the Holy Spirit who is the third person of the Trinity, co-equal and co-eternal with the Father and the Son. The Holy Spirit brings the individual members of the body of God (believers) into a cohesive unit to become the bride of Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit seals our salvation (one time) and fills us in situations to equip us to share the Gospel (ongoing).
Mankind:
We believe that mankind was created in the image of God as male and female and given dominion over the earth. Of their own free will, Adam and Eve chose to disobey God and as a result, were separated from God’s presence. Humankind was unable to save themselves, so God created a solution for sin by sending His Son, whose death and resurrection saved us and brought us back into fellowship with God.
Salvation:
We believe that only God could pay the debt of sin, owed by mankind. And that God, through Jesus, paid our debt. We are saved by grace alone. We see grace at work in our lives through the transformation of souls, which produces faith and obedience.
