Glorious

Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.” And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear; 1 Peter 1:13-17

You are a mirror that reflects and absorbs God's glory.

As God’s glory shines upon you, you reflect His glory to those around you. God’s glory comes from His holiness—His being set apart as spotless and worthy of worship. As you reflect His glory, you begin to absorb His holiness as you become different and set apart from the world around you. Your holiness doesn’t come from yourself, your holiness comes from God’s glory. As you continually reflect God’s glory, His holiness becomes a part of you. As you rest your hope on His grace, His glory transforms you into His holiness as you refuse to be conformed to the world.

Heaven was not made for your happiness.

Heaven was made for God's glory and His holiness. Your purpose in Heaven will be to bring God glory by being made in His image and by doing things that reflect His glory. You cannot produce anything that is worthy to give God glory; only God’s glory is worthy of giving God glory. Being made in His image, you reflect God’s glory back to Him because you cannot contain the limited amount of glory that God has poured out on you. “But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain You. How much less this temple which I have built!” (1 Kings 8:27). The more conformed you become to God’s holiness, the less Heaven becomes about you, and the more it becomes about God and giving Him glory. The longer you spend in eternity with God, the more you do what you were designed to do by giving God glory.

Christianity isn't something you add to your life, it's something that involves every part of your life.

Holiness can’t be something you add in addition to all the other things in your life. Holiness is, by definition, separateness, so holiness must separate you from all the other things in life. The more you are in God’s presence, the more you will absorb His holiness and carry His holiness with you wherever you go. When Moses left the presence of God, his face shone as he carried a part of God’s glory with him (Exodus 34). You bring God’s holiness with you and shine on those around you as a limited expression of God’s glory. Heaven will be a place of tremendous glory as God’s glory is absorbed and reflected by everyone and everything. Therefore, refuse to be conformed to this world; let God’s glory and holiness transform you.
