Empowered to Persevere 1
There is a difference between Godly perseverance and willpower. The strength of our willpower is not enough; we need God’s strength to revitalize our weary souls. God’s grace is stronger than our weaknesses and is sufficient for all our needs. We have to turn to God in our moments of weakness to gain the strength to pick up our stuff and move on.
As we continue through the muck of life, we continually find that only God can give us the strength you need to meet the challenges ahead. Only God can work a miracle out of our miserable situations. Only God can rescue us from the perils of life.
Godly perseverance isn’t a commitment to make it through or a dedication to working harder. Godly perseverance is recognizing that we don’t have the strength to keep going on our own. When we recognize that we have a deep for God, we find out that with God all things are possible. Worldly perseverance or will power is trying harder and refusing to give up on our efforts. Godly perseverance is trusting that God will never give up on us but that He will make a way and for us. Godly perseverance is putting our hope in God’s strength, rather than our own.
God spoke life out of nothing; He can surely speak life into your situation.
We all get discouraged when life gets hard. And often we don’t have a clear vision of how the near future is going to turn out. We can choose to fret about the future knowing that it is out of our control or we can choose to pause our focus on our stress and turn to God. The question that we have to ask ourselves is: Can we pause our anxiety and planning and focus on God’s answers and provisions. As we turn away from doing life on our own, we will find a way to see what God has provided instead of what we lack.
Do you trust God more than you fear your insecurities?
God uses the uncertainties of life to cause us to lean into His provisions. Our worries won’t go away, and even if they do, new ones will replace them. We can always take a moment, rest from our anxious thoughts and thank God for providing all we need and ask Him to help us trust Him more. We can always persevere when we find our strength in God’s.
