A Changed Life

There is no time to be indecisive. If we are going to serve God, let us serve Him. If we aren't, our future doesn’t look so great. But do not be dishonest, the only person we will be lying to is ourselves. Serving God is an action rather than a belief. Believing we can say we serve God without the actions of serving God is a myth. If you say we claim to serve God, then we must actively serve Him in both word and deed. “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.” (Revelation 3:15-16).

Do not be lukewarm: either serve the Lord or don’t

God didn't save us to just forgive our sins and leave us the way we are. It's much deeper than that, he saves us so that he can transform our life and mold us into the image of Christ. How are you growing closer to the Lord? “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,” (Romans 12:2). We will change throughout our life. We will either change to conform to the world by allowing it to have more influence over our lives or we will be changed through the influence of the Holy Spirit in our lives. The more time we spend cultivating the Spirit’s work in our lives, the more we will be transformed; the more time we spend in the world, the more we will be conformed. How we choose to spend our time determines whether we will be confirmed or transformed.

We are continually being formed whether we intend to be or not.

The formation process happens as we are living our lives; it doesn’t come at the end. We will not be formed one way when we live mostly in the influence of the other. What we do becomes who we are. We are primarily formed by where we choose to spend our time. When we spend time with other believers, we will become more godly ourselves. We are not formed by our own efforts, but the Spirit at work in us forms us. A large part of our transformation process is submitting to the Spirit and letting Him do the work. We can’t submit to the Spirit if we don’t spend time with Him and get to know His voice.
