The Workshop part 2
Today we will dive deeper into the extended metaphor of our soul being the workshop of our life. Our workshop is designed to produce a life. We will see the life that is produced through our workshop largely depends on what we bring into our workshop.
Your life should not have to be forced into shape.
Our life should naturally come into shape as we let God run the workshop of our lives. Our desires and habits can be transformed as we submit our lives to God. When God is in charge of the workshop of our lives, we become a unique product of His divine creativity as more of His creative work continues to flow out of us. God’s creativity should shape us, not our own creativity.
Your life can become the outflowing of God’s creative work within your soul.
As we abandon any attempts to hold our life together out of the quagmire of our experiences, God becomes the One who sorts out who we will become. We have to abandon our sense of pride and self-dignity and surrender ourselves to a full force movement of praise to God. God waits for us to allow Him to strip us of our desire to remain in control of ourselves to surrender control to Him. God’s ability to work in our lives can be hindered or increased by our cooperation with His work. We have to give up the hammer and chisel into the hands of God, knowing that He might use it to shape us in ways we don’t want to go.
If you want to experience trusting God. you have to abandon yourself
When we trust Him at the core of our life, we will see Him rippling through our life, making us more like Him. As we quiet ourselves and leave a stillness in our soul, we will begin to hear Him enter with His whisper that calms everything and brings our workshop into a posture of worship to Himself. The mark of God on our life becomes clear as we walk forward with confidence knowing that God is always whispering to us when we listen. The quiet whisper and work of God in our soul doesn’t give us certainty in the future nor does it answer all the questions of life. His whisper gives us confidence in God, so we can walk with certainty into the unknown. We are to learn to trust God so that we can live with the uncertainty of life without having to figure it out on our own.
