Sin

Your testimonies are wonderful; therefore my soul keeps them. The entrance of Your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple. I opened my mouth and panted, for I longed for Your commandments. Look upon me and be merciful to me, as Your custom is toward those who love Your name. Direct my steps by Your word, and let no iniquity have dominion over me. Redeem me from the oppression of man, that I may keep Your precepts. Make Your face shine upon Your servant, and teach me Your statutes. Rivers of water run down from my eyes, because men do not keep Your law.

Psalm 119:129-136

Sin isn't graded on the curve.

God’s commandments are straight, perfect, and without error. The professed declaration of His law makes a flawless path. Because the sworn testimony of His law is good, any deviation from the laser light beam of truth leaves one dangling in the vacuum of space outside of the light beam of God’s statutes. This laser beam of light that emanates from God’s face as He projects the radiance of His glory into a truth beam. God is merciful to those who love Him and seeks to bring them back into the light of truth. Any departure from God’s laser beam leaves you hanging precariously in mid-air. As you ask God for mercy and for deliverance from the oppression of man (sin), He looks upon you and draws you back into the tractor beam of His gaze. At the end of the laser tractor beam, you see His face shining brighter than anything as the source of all light. Let Him draw you in, let Him overwhelm you with His radiance.

Don't pay for your sins twice.

Jesus already paid for your sins they don't need to be paid for twice. His arm reaches out of the laser tractor beam to grab you and pull you back in. He will go to any length to reach you and pull you back into His love. Because God is merciful, He shines His face upon you so that iniquity and oppression will flee from you. Sin has no dominion over you, not because of your strength, but because it runs from the presence of God. Don’t hold on to sin, and let it pull you away from God.  Let sin run away from you as ants do when a rock is overturned. Just cockroaches or ants run away from being looked at in the light, sin will vanish before it is exposed. Jesus already paid the price for your sin of wandering away from the light of truth, don’t pay for your sins twice.

When Satan told Eve she would not die, he was partly telling the truth.

Human beings were made to live forever. Because sin entered this world, humans cannot live in this world forever. God wants you to live in His presence away from the presence of sin, but He still gives you the freedom to choose what to love, what to learn and what to long for. He allows your desires to shape how you live and who you become. The truth is that everyone lives forever. They will either live forever in God's presence or away from Him.  Therefore, rivers of water should run down your face when you consider that some will not keep God’s law and exist forever apart from the radiant beam of God’s love. Jesus paid the price for you to be restored to the path of truth, remain in the radiance of His truth.
