More than Mario
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him. Ephesians 1:7-10
God redeems the unclean.
In Numbers 18:15, the firstborn sons and the firstborn of the unclean animals were redeemed, but the firstborn of the clean animals were not redeemed. In Luke 5:31-32 Jesus responds to the scribes and Pharisees’ condemnation of his company by saying, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.” (Luke 5:31-32). God redeemed you because you were unclean and needed to be redeemed. If you were clean, God would have no reason to redeem you. According to His good pleasure, He makes the riches of His grace abound toward us so that we can be gathered together with unity in Christ.
You are not a video game for God.
God interacts with you at a deeper level than someone playing Mario. God doesn’t arbitrarily hop around redeeming some and squishing others. His interaction with mankind is much deeper than that. He offers a way of escape for everyone and guides us in the paths of righteousness. You don't have to follow His path of righteousness, but if you don't, you will fall into the lava pit. God has made a way of escape for you (1 Corinthians 10:13), but you have to follow His path through the redemption of His blood to make it through.
You have to realize you are lost before you can be saved.
If death is simply a natural process that has shaped the world for millions of years, then there is no problem with the world and it is functioning as it should. But, if you know that sin and death is not a natural part of life on earth, then you will seek salvation from death and refuse to accept sin as a way of life. When you understand that you are unclean because of sin, you will look for redemption so that you can become clean. And the only way you will find to become clean is through the blood of Christ.
It is useless to have the answers to the questions no one is asking.
If you are asking how to play the game of life, anyone can show you how to hop around getting coins; but if you are asking how to win the game of life, there is only one way to receive the crown. It is pointless to tell someone how to win the game of life if all they want to do is hop around gathering coins and squishing goombas. You have to provoke them to ask the right questions before giving them the answers, or your answers will be meaningless to them. You have to convince others that they are unclean and need to be redeemed before you can offer them a solution to their uncleanness. God will continue to seek us as we move through life, but we have to come to a point where we desire to seek Him and His path of righteousness to win the game and receive the crown of life.
