Choose This Day How You Will Live
Life is full of uncertainties. In the midst of those uncertainties, we can be certain about two things: 1. one day we all will die and 2. after that we will stand before God.
You cannot choose how you will die; you can only choose how you will live.
We get to decide how we spend our time. We get to decide what we will do with the time that is given to us. We don't get to change the measurement of time given to us, we only get to decide what we will make with it. If we have 4 cups of flour, we can make cake, muffins, bread or anything else we can imagine. Once we've used up our flour, we get to present our dish to the King of Kings. The only baked goods God accepts is Jesus covered baked goods. Whatever bread or cake we make, it needs to be iced or covered by Christ Jesus. When you are covered by Jesus, you will be good.
I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
Isaiah 61:10 (see also Colossians 3:1-4)
There is no admission charge to the straight and narrow path.
There is no admission charge to the straight and narrow path, but the only way to get on to the straight path is to be air dropped by the helicopter of Jesus. The fee for such an airdrop is beyond what you could pay for. God offers you a free lift, but you have to say yes to receive your free ride. Once we are on the straight and narrow path, we have to focus our attention on the path ahead of us and forsaking all others, we must dedicate ourselves to the Lord.
The greatest use of your life is to spend it for something that will outlast it.
The concerns of the day (what we should eat, what we should wear …), seem so important at the moment, but lack significance in the long run. The only thing that will outlast our life is what we do for Jesus and God's Kingdom. So any time and investment we make for the Kingdom. Nothing lasts longer than eternity. Investing in eternal things far outweighs the value of any other thing you can invest your time in.
