Blessings
The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein. For He has founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the waters.
Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, who seek Your face. Selah Psalm 24:1-6
God’s blessings are unlimited.
Every blessing that exists comes from God. You don't have to take away God’s blessings from someone else for you to receive His blessings. You can increase someone else’s blessings and be blessed yourself too. The best way to increase the blessings you have is not to hold on to them tightly, grasping for more. The best way to increase your blessings is to share them with others and you will receive the blessings others share with you. The blessings you have are multiplied when you share them with others, so the best way you can increase your blessings is by sharing them with others. Counterintuitive to the world’s system, you add to your blessings by giving them away. Do not focus on hoarding the blessings you have, share them with others so that together with those in your community, you can increase the amount of God’s blessings you have.
“It is more blessed to give than to receive.” (Acts 20:35). The best way you can increase your blessings is to give or share it with others. Even when you have a limited amount of blessings, sharing your blessings instead of hoarding them will help you find abundance. When a poor widow woman gave even in the midsts of her poverty, Jesus said about her, “Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all; for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings for God, but she out of her poverty put in all the livelihood that she had.” (Luke 21:3-4).
It's easier to trust Jesus when you don’t have any other options than trusting Him, but do you trust Him when you have options?
There are times in your life (especially when you are young and old) when you are dependent upon others. In one sense, those are hard moments in your life; in another way, those are the moments where it's easiest to trust God, because you have to. Regardless, those moments are the times when your faith and trust in God grow the most. When you have options, you have to remember how you trusted God when you didn’t have options.
What you do with your resources now is what you would do with your resources if you had more of them.
When you learn to be generous with your blessings when you have little, you will know how to be generous with your blessings when you have an abundance. “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6). How you train your children, and yourself when you are young and have a few blessings will shape how you behave when you have more blessings.
